Georgia Against Tobacco and Drugs (GATAD)
The Georgia Against Tobacco and Drugs (GATAD) have been involved in organizing a Heart Week, 6th – 13th May, 2007. On the 6th of May, sports events will be carried out in the old part of the town, where Tbilisoba (a special Holiday of Tbilisi town that takes place every last week of October) and other events are usually carried out. It has been planned to invite the youth from the conflict zones and the neighboring Caucasus Countries – Armenia and Azerbaijan to participate in those events. Anti-Tobacco and Anti-Alcohol NGOs as well as AIDS fighting organization will join in carrying out our events in May. The young activists from Y4H will be the leaders and main organizers of the planned sports events. They will work among the future participants of the sport events. They also will be advertising a healthy life style and they will be assuring their peers of the danger of drug using and tobacco smoking.
